....i spent hours earlier this week at the lakeshore learning store to see if i could find some cool manipulates and learning tools for the pre-schoolers, much to my niece's detriment, she was soooo good in there for sooo long, hannah did find a cool bouncy ball we chased all over that store, and it's safe to say i hit the jackpot.... so being home ill, no more soaps on the couch those days are 8 years gone..... and having the time, i decided that i needed to open all the boxes and make sure i knew how everything worked and put together anything that needed to be rebagged or assembled.... you know the junk work and well the kiddos caught wind of the activity in our "school corner" i don't get a whole room.... just a corner... thankfully it's a big corner under the stairs! and once they joined me a little uninvited but what the heck we had a ball.... i think we went through an entire week worth of lessons on sorting, shapes, colors, graphing, seriously luke is a little sponge... he wouldn't stop....."what's next mom....let me try this....what's that box for".....round and round we went sampling all the goods...finally because i was exhausted i begged him to let me put everything away.... i was drifting into zone land where i started building a bug parade while he graphed his bugs...... which he thought was pretty cool... promising i'd get it all out tomorrow.... he even put all the numbers on the calendar for me! i was a little shocked he did it... i'm going to take his picture by it the first day of school.... i'm thrilled he's so excited to be with me this year....i was afraid he'd be sad not to have a teacher like his brothers....but after the round up he said in the car on the way home..."mom i'm still going to do home school right?"... and jess later asked him who his teacher was and he giggled and said, "it's mom, dad!" i realized he doesn't want to be away from home at school yet...whew...i can breathe a little better now.... and i think rae is going to benefit so much from what we're doing and all being together.... i'm really looking forward to this year with the little ones they have 100% and it's going to be sooooo worth it.... rae loved sorting her fruit we might even get her to stop leaving out 4 when she counts to 20! well at least i'm hoping.....
