just breathe
just when you least expect it someone does the most incredible gesture to turn a seemingly disastrous day into a calm sea..... the paperwork to enroll the boys in school went from simple to a total nightmare in 0-60 seconds....... i completed noahs and moved on to zachary's... "oh they must have given us the wrong packet there are kindergarten physical forms in here requiring a dental exam, blood work, the whole nine yards" and as those of you who have done this it's like oh my gosh do the appointments, lab work, phone calls , injections, blood draws ever end???? Knowing we have already done this i put in a simple phone call to the school secretary. What happened next I was totally unprepared for....i simply informed her that our former school had all these records so i was going to turn in the packet without these forms since well children do not need to be put through this more than once?.... how completely unnecessary..well she asked where we moved from and i told her and in a very questionable tone she replied "Oh well you definitely need all new doccuments....as if my prior ped dentist.... doctor and lab tech weren't qualified to assess a child entering her school...... well at least that's what she implied in so many tones and words..... are you kidding me..... and to my utmost surprise Jess had called our prior fabulous school in the valley (at the news of my irritating conversation) and my favorite secretary ever... told Jess to tell me she would just fax the boys information to the new school immediately and not even wait for the records to be requested..... she even went on to say that she would deal with the office and make sure that Zach's records were sufficient and complete enough..... i couldn't help the tears spilling down my face onto my cell phone at the intense appreciation i had for Kathy at that moment..... she relieved all my stress and worry in a snap.... even on their second busy busy busy day of school she took the time to fix my paper work problem..... even now i'm so teary the keyboard is a blur...i'm reminded of how important our tone and words to strangers are... and how in a second we can thrash someones day when all it takes is a flash to make someone elses.....
