....so a certain 8 year old and his team 'GALAXY' took 1st place in a playoff game today securing them the first place championship.... it was pretty awesome! He had a terrific morning game scoring 1 of 3 goals and earning the team a shot in the final game this afternoon.... and they played their hearts out in a game that lasted almost 2 hours! After the game it was tied 1-1 so the kids played two 7 minute overtime halves.... no score.... so we went to pk's 1 on 1 and they alternated teams... they were first... the kid kicked it straight to our fantastic goalie...who saved our goal first shot out! 0....our first kid up... D kind of a wild card... thankfully put it in straight in the corner..... 1...their 2nd kid..... booted it hard and fast in the left corner....1 our second kid A a little superstar fast straight above ground hit the back of the net.... 2 their 3rd boy another fast kick over the goalie's head and far left....2 our 3rd boy C a future NFL kicker racked the easy shot in like it was nothing 3....their 4th boy shot high and our goalie jumped then nicked it with his fingertips and it came down and he captured it in his chest....our crowd went wild..... it was the mvp save of our game.... still 2 and finally our rock solid other goalie E shot and before i could blink the whistle blew and after almost 2 agonizing hours and nerves shot for all parents, we had won 4 shots in a row the other team with 2 of the 4 already couldn't win for anything so the refs called GAME!!!!! it was one of the best days of noah's life.... NOT THAT WINNING IS EVERYTHING BUT..... IT'S PRETTY FUN! it's those moments we treasure as parents and play over and over in our minds! YEAH we are so proud of these boys! phenomenal soccer stars.... winning it all in their U9 region which just happens to be one of the largest in the united states! in two weeks we play for sectional playoffs! needless to say i'm a big GALAXY fan...CONGRATULATIONS!
