happy birthday jess! it was a weird day in that we could go um, nowhere as a family due to zach's sudden but crazy illness. he basically slept all afternoon and evening while the other 5 members of the party ate 'chicken frapuccine' (courtesy of rae rae), fresh salad, and crispy french bread... and chocolate cake, lots of chocolate cake. as far as birthdays go, we'll have to have a huge adventure next year. i think the highlight of his birthday was thursday when he ran upstairs with numerous envelopes in his hand, "look what i got!!!!" it was a stack of birthday cards from his ever faithful aunt rhonda, my parents, (thanks for the gc's ron and deb!) and his grandparents, both sides... lucky guy! he was like a little kid again on christmas, it reminded me that even the people who act like trivial life milestones mean little to them still love to be thought of and appreciated. and even when you appear to 'have all you can want and more' it is always the being thought of that counts! this guy is so loved and appreciated. i love these pictures of him with the kids all anxious to be in his lap to give him homemade cards with candy taped inside (luke) and sparkly glitter nail polish adorning all the handwritten letters (wonder who). my edward, my mr.darcy, my joe fox, my unlikely other half who i am forever devoted to, i love u (u&i)..... sure, sure.
