recital

so, this afternoon brought rachel's ballet recital. she's been feeling a little under the weather (to put it mildly 104 fever!). daddy took her to the doctor on friday, and even with an ear infection she wasn't going to miss her show.... she knew the rehearsal was that night (we were going to skip) and instinctively she woke from her day of hibernation around 330. "mommy lets do my make-up and go to my rehearsal now". even this morning when she slept in until 12 we took it one hour at a time answering text messages with her play by play.... and sure enough she woke up and was ready to gear up for her show. i've never seen such determination from a little girl. It was so funny her "the show must go on attitude". she knew her entire dance and was such a graceful little thing....aaahhhhh jess text me on my way and reminded me how many years i've waited for this... i was so worried about her feeling ill i didn't stop to enjoy it all until that reminder! playing with MAC for the last 10 years has perfected my use of all the brushes and the stage make-up was oh so much fun to apply.... it looked fantastic and i had a blast doing a few of the girls back stage, with those brushes the layers just form so naturally. that was a blast! i remembered to soak that moment in. although she was spent afterwards (the pics), tiara off, make up half off, thank goodness we remembered the stroller she has long retired.... i'm glad we listened to her wishes and let her go on stage today. she was amazingly adorable! here's a few of her fans. seriously. why do we always forget the shots with mom and dad??~!
