pumpkins

...i love october it starts to cool down... and the pumpkins are so bright and cheerful this year... i decided i needed some fall snap shots to update the house pretty sad that the frames are all still empty.... relocating seems to drag out forever...but i was driving today and remembered to thank god for all of his provisions these last couple months.... our sanity has been tested and the anxiety levels get high... but through it all i'm trying to remember that god commands us "to be anxious in nothing" and that is such a struggle for me... having a tribe more often than not ignites this fault of mine.... i'm learning that even if the 6 year old sleeps through soccer practice the sun will still rise tomorrow and the day will be new.... i'm also trying to remember that in the midst of all the chaotic demands of life that this is their season of childhood and we don't have to demand harvard at 8.... i want to push the kids and set the bar high but when i start to pull them i'm realizing that the reigns are just to darn tight.... so i left zach snoozing in his bunk at 3:59 and didn't drag him to soccer tonight and made a fun dinner and brownies...two different types to make the older boys feel like they were really doted on..... i think it worked..... we then left all the mess and demands of the house and took advantage of the warm evening and drove mcqueen all around the cul de sac and rode scooters and bikes until the sun melted into the foothills...it was one of the best fall days we've had and i'm so thankful for the pictures to remember it by.....
